 Big blue diamonds

I’m sure there has come a time in everyone’s life that they have been stunned by the stupidity and ignorance of someone… That’s right; you stood there for a moment speechless… jaw dropped open… forehead wrinkled… maybe even a surprised look on your face…. I had been collecting old black and white cowboy photo’s…art print pictures of real cowboy’s around the time when picture taking was first invented… I matted and framed each one in matching red mahogany wood frames… All day I worked with the measuring tape to map out on the wall where each one would hang…then the job was done…. I stood there looking at my work as the husband’s son-in-law walked up…. As he and I surveyed my hard work he looked over at me and said …. “Is this your brother?”…. He pointed to the old picture of a cowboy holding his girl very tight and giving her a little kiss… the caption underneath saying “Young buffalo and Caroline May Blainy”…. One of my eye’s started to twitch… I said… “Sure that’s my brother buffalo Johnny and his wife Caroline about 130 years ago…. and this?” As I pointed too a bronco buster riding high on the back of a rodeo horse… “ Is your father-in-law back in 1951 after he won the gold belt buckle he hocked last year for food”… (The husband was born in 1963)… He seemed to soak this in for a moment and then walked away… There is no excuse for him. No excuse for Mr. Stupid… none at all…. He is 28 years old! I hate that boy…. I swear I do… He is a smart talking idiot! He will interrupt me while I’m talking to my husband and talk over me…ignoring that I was even talking….He is rude to me too and the husband lets him! That’s why I honestly believe my husband would use me for a shield during danger instead of trying to protect me!

Now I want to say this…. I hate the husband’s daughter! And the reason is because she is a woman and treated better by him than I am! For 2 years in a row I have received nothing for my birthday… NOTHING! But he is getting her a camera this year for hers! Last year for Christmas he gave her the boots I HAD WANTED! Is this petty of me? Yes, I guess so…. But I can’t help it…. Those aren’t the only 2 times this has happened… and she is not a girl!… She’s a woman!… with a child of her own!… I feel we should be giving to the child, not her!… Well that was a load of my chest….

I hope you enjoy this next little tune…. It’s called BIG BLUE DIAMONDS.

Big diamonds, big blue diamonds, on her finger
(On her finger)
Yes, 'stead of a little band of gold
(Big blue diamond)
Big diamonds (big blue diamonds)
Big blue diamonds (big blue diamonds)
Tell a story of the love
That the one man could ever hold
(Of them all)

She wanted more than I had money to buy
So she left me, then got lonesome, I am told
Big diamonds, blue diamonds
Now she'll trade them in
For love behind little band of gold
(Little diamonds)

Big diamonds (big diamonds)
Big blue diamonds (big blue diamonds)
How they sparkle
But what can they do to warm your soul?
(Warm her soul)
When you're lonesome in the moonlight
Want the lovin', yes
Big as diamonds (diamonds)
They're blue diamonds (diamonds)
They're so wreckless and cold
(Big blue diamonds)

I'd gladly do my part to mend her broken heart
But the last one over grows cold
Big diamonds (diamonds)
Big blue diamonds (blue diamonds)
I don't want them, no-no
I just want a love behind a band of gold.
(A band of gold).

 Booger Woods

Now this song brings back fond memories.... That Charlie Daniels is sure something.... I believe this song is called " The legend of Wooly swamp"......

If you ever go back into Wooly Swamp son you better not go at night
There's things out there in the middle of them woods
That'd make a strong man die from fright
There's things that crawl and things that fly
And things that creep around on the ground
And they say the ghost of Lucias Clay gets up and it walks around.

CHORUS:
But I couldn't believe it, I just had to find out for myself
And I couldn't conceive it, I never would listen to nobody else
No I couldn't believe it, I just had to find out for myself
That there's some things in this world you just can't explain.

The old man lived in the Wooly Swamp way back in the gurgling woods
And he never did do a lot of harm in the world
But he never did do no good
People didn't think too much of him
They all thought he acted funny
The old man didn't care about people anyway
All he cared about was his money.
He'd stuff it all down in Mason jars and bury it all around
But on certain nights if the moon was right
He'd dig it up out of the ground.
He'd pour it all out on the floor of his shack
And run his fingers through it.
Old Lucias Clay was a greedy old man
And that's all there ever was to it.

CHORUS

The Crayton boys were white trash they lived over on Parvis Creek
They were a real snake and sneaky as a cat
And belligerent when they'd speak.
One night the oldest brother said ya'll meet in the Wooly Swamp later
We'll get old Lucias' money and we'll pitch him to the alligators.
They found the old man out in the back with a shovel in his hand
And thirteen rusty Mason jars he just dug up out of the sand.
And they all went crazy and they beat the old man
Then they picked him up off the ground
Then they threw him in the swamp and they stood there and laughed
Till the black water sucked him down.
Then they turned around and went back to the shack
And they picked up the money and ran.
But they hadn't gone nowheres when they realized
They were running in quicksand.
And they struggled and screamed but they couldn't get away
Then just before they were gone
They could hear that old man laughing
In a voice that was loud and strong.

Now that's been fifty years ago an' if you go back by there again
There's a spot in the yard in back of that shack
Where the ground is always wet.
And on certain nights if the moon is right
And you're down by the dark footpath
You can hear three yound men screaming
And you can hear that old man laugh.

 ROCK..........DUCK!

I’ve been really busy with yard work and feeling sorry for myself that I just haven’t had much time to post… I wanted to give you an update on the old Cemetery that I’ve been trying to make look half way decent….. After taking my limb cutters down there while the husband was bush hogging I cut 3 bushes to look like a tree…. Come on!…. A bush can only grow so big until it’s not a bush anymore!… Right?…. So all the crape myrtle bushes are now crape myrtle tree’s…. I still haven’t been able to map out the graves… I cant tell where they begin and where they end…. It’s a huge snake infested weedy mess….. I need to get rid of all that tall grass… I see the grass moving to fast for the wind to do it and I can only guess what might cause such a ruckus… I tell my self it is a cute hillbilly bunny rabbit so I don’t high tail it home. I’ve finally got all the weeds out of my own front yard…I got sick of pulling them so I just cut them off where you cant see them any more… I know that was lazy but you should have saw all the briers that threatened to cut my hands all to pieces…. Yes I have gloves but I lost them last week while I was down by the river looking for that Indian mound… Yes I remember I’ve never seen one….but that hasn’t stopped me yet…. But seriously, If anyone has ever seen one let me know what to look for….

Last night I watched the Honeymooner’s … with Cedric The Entertainer as Ralph Kranden…. I liked it… I liked the way the director made you feel like the bus and the city was back in an earlier time but still set in modern day…. I watched a few other’s that I got on block buster’s 2 for 20 display…. I guess you take your chances with movies you never seen or heard about… I can’t tell you how many movies I’ve bought that I didn’t like…. I know I should rent them first but I can’t ever get them back on time… or watch them in a timely manner…

Yesterday while mowing I shot a rock up from under the mower and it hit the white plastic fence and knocked a hole in it….about the size of a quarter. I wonder….. Has anyone ever been killed by some stray lawn mower rock?… Well speaking of mowing I better get out there and finish… I want to go to the river today and look around again…. I wish I didn’t have to go alone all the time……..

 Easy Loving

This song use to play when I was a little girl.... I remember it playing on the tiny juke box at the Clover coffee shop....

Easy Loving: Freddie Hart

Easy lovin', so sexy lookin'
I know from the feelin' that it comes from the heart
Easy lovin', every day's Thanksgivin'
To count all my blessings, I wouldn't know where to start

Every time I look you over
So real-to-life it seems
For upon your pretty shoulders
There's a pair of angel wings

Easy lovin', seein's believin'
Life with you's like livin' in a beautiful dream

Every time I look you over
So real-to-life it seems
For upon your pretty shoulders
There's a pair of angel wings

Easy lovin', seein's believin'
Life with you's like livin' in a beautiful dream
