 crossroads

By robert johnson

I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees.
I went down to the crossroads, fell down on my knees.
Asked the lord above for mercy, save me if you please.

I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride.
I went down to the crossroads, tried to flag a ride.
Nobody seemed to know me, everybody passed me by.

I’m going down to rosedale, take my rider by my side.
I’m going down to rosedale, take my rider by my side.
You can still barrelhouse, baby, on the riverside.

You can run, you can run, tell my friend-boy willie brown.
You can run, you can run, tell my friend-boy willie brown.
And I’m standing at the crossroads, believe I’m sinking down

JFK, the red rocker and SRV........

I’m not saying my “whole” time in Dallas was a bust. Once I snuck behind the Albertson’s in Valley Ranch and watched the Cowboy’s practice till some man on a golf cart came over and tried to poke me with a stick. I didn’t know that was against the rules. Just as well because I never really knew how Foot Ball worked anyway. I just watched for the way the guys looked in those tight uniforms. I started watching Boxing for this same reason and then I realized that I actually liked it! There is nothing like watching 2 men just beat the hell out of each other. The big guys are the spot light most of the time but I like the little guys. More punches are thrown if you ask me. So back to Dallas. I saw Sammy Hagar do a free concert there when he was with VanHalen. It rocked! I went up in the building that Lee Harvey Oswald snuck around in when the president was shot and even stood on the exact spot the president had “been” shot until I was almost run over by a passing car. They didn’t close the street off forever you know. And here is my fondest memory….. I was in the guitar shop once that Stevie Ray Vaughn used to get his guitar repaired. OK I was there twice. It’s in Oak Cliff…. I saw a Huge monkey once in a pawn shop too . I went back to look at him FOUR times. He sat on a stick and watched TV. I don’t know what made me want to go back and see him because he wasn’t all that nice of a monkey. I would always try to get his attention but he wouldn’t stop watching that TV!….. It reminded me of my Dad.

I'm all most all packed for my trip... My husband still acts like we're not going any where. That's how he acts about his fishing trips. He doesnt let me pack his fishing things any more becasue he "thinks" I'm a dumb ass. When really I'm just mean as hell sometimes.  I put a dryer sheet in his tackle box because I said it stunk in there. I did this out of spite. But I let him think it was becasue I didn't know any better. He had one of those big nice ones.. you know... with the shelves and shit. I wont say any more about it but I will say he deserved it more than you can know!... Once he pee'd on the toilet seat on purpose JUST SO I'D SIT IN IT! I know it wasn't an accident! He NEVER does that! I had asked him to hurry because I needed in there too. SOOOOOOOOOO...... what conclusion do you come to? .............

Carry On Wayward Son

Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond the illusion
I was soaring ever higher, but I flew too high
Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man
Though my mind could thnk I still was a mad man
I hear the voices when I'm dreamin', I can hear them say

CHORUS
Carry on my wayward son,
For there'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Now don't you cry no more

Masquerading as a man with a reason
My charade is the event of the season
And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don't know
On a stormy sea of moving emotion
Tossed about I'm like a ship on the ocean
I set a course for winds of fortune, but I hear the voices say

CHORUS

Carry on, you will always remember
Carry on, nothing equals the splendor
Now your life's no longer empty
Surely heaven waits for you

CHORUS
this song is for Sir Cranky......Enjoy Sir..............
